Areas of Expertise
Denver Water has started working on a series of construction projects that will impact travel around the Museum. We wanted to give you some forewarning so you can plan your route to and from the Museum accordingly, and allow extra time for travel. Our marketing team is working on providing updates via our website for our guests, requesting that they allow extra time to get to the Museum as well.
Please read the Denver Water communication below and click HERE to see a map of work areas and phases. We will send you updates as we receive them.

Here is the latest update from Denver Water regarding the Colorado Boulevard project. Please note the bike lane impact on Montview. Please advise with any questions or concerns. You can view the Montview Blvd construction plan and timeline HERE.
- Phase 1 (Colorado Blvd. from Colfax Ave. to E. 17th Ave.) is complete.
- Phase 2 (E 17th from Jackson St. to Colorado Blvd.) is complete.
- Phase 3 (Colorado Blvd. from E 17th to Montview Blvd.) is currently being worked on with a projected completion of February 2.
- Phase 6 (Montview Blvd. from Colorado Blvd. to Bellaire St.) has been moved up in priority. We will start replacing the water main in phase 6 on January 23 and anticipate finishing this phase in late February. Montview will still have two way traffic but we will need to close the westbound parking and bike lane along Montview (please see attached). This could impact those biking to the museum. Work will only occur during the day but the closure of the bike lane on Montview will be 24/7 for the length of the phase.
Denver Water is committed to being a good neighbor during construction. Please visit our website for more information on safety, equipment placement, construction hours, water interruption, and other project impacts: denverwater.org/pipes.
